Your arrive home to your wife after a long day at the office. You're tired and would love to just sit down and do nothing for a while, but seeing your wife and her amazing smile brings joy to your heart. You want to romance her and make her feel loved, but what can you do? You don't want to turn around and run to the car to get her flowers - you would appear totally insane. You could watch the stars together, being it is late, but the deck's main light is burnt out and you forgot to get a new bulb. What will you do? But then you remember the kit you bought for solar deck lighting.
Yet Another Delayed DIY Project?
You kiss your wife tenderly on the cheek, and then run out the to garage, explaining you need to complete something you've been putting off, but that you will be done by dinner time. Your wife knows of your bad habit not to get things done, so she smiles and nods, then turns to continue cooking.
You get outside and start looking for the boxed kit you had purchased earlier in the year that was meant to be a surprise for your wife - you just never seemed to have time to put them up before. After opening the third large box of forgotten junk, you start thinking that candles would be an easier option - but last time you watched the stars together, you fell asleep in each other's arms. No, that would be a fire hazard waiting to happen.
Simple Instructions For Installation
You go through two more boxes and then finally find them, still wrapped in cellophane. You open one of the smaller boxes and read the instructions. You find they are pretty self explanatory and rush outside, trying to not be caught by your wife. Working at a fast but determined pace causes you to feel like a small boy once more, just like you did when trying to surprise your parents or a friend. After a short while, you get them all installed and try switching them on. The package said they came with pre-charged batteries, and you hoped they still held a charge after six months of neglect.
A Worthwhile Effort
Luckily for you, the solar deck lighting comes brightly to life, illuminating the deck with a romantic glow. You turn around to enter the kitchen and announce your surprise to your awaiting spouse when you bump right into here. She cracks a smile and laughs, then tells you that the lights are quite beautiful. She returns the the kitchen, grabs the dinner plates, and places them on the small round table in the corner of the deck. She then grabs two wine glasses and a bit of sparkling champagne.
"I thought we would celebrate you accomplishing a project all in one night" giggles your wife in a loving tone. You don't answer but merely kiss her, tears filling your eyes. You are proud of your accomplishments, and love how happy you have made your wife.
After dinner you lay in each other's arms, awash in the glow of the solar deck lighting as well as the moon, and slowly fall asleep peaceful and happier than ever.
